Wilkin Valley, Mt Aspiring National Park - February 2016
Mount Aspiring National park is probably some of the most authentic and amazing tramping you will get. The pictures speak for themselves. Please bear in mind this is not easy tramping, good gear and a healthy does of experience and training is necessary in this area.
Waitakere Ranges - Various Times
I live very close to the Waitakeres, and I do a lot of my work there. so I've most of what they have to offer. A lot of people don't appreciate how stunning they can be, which is especially saddening when one considers how close they are to Auckland. So I've posted a few photos to try and get people out and appreciating their beauty. They're well worth a trip; they're big and varied enough to support everything from an afternoon jaunt to a hard four day tramp (The Hillary Trail, among others).
Coromandel Forest Park
The Coromandel Forest Park is only an hour and a half or so from Auckland. These photos are taken on a trip up to the Pinnacles Hut. It can be done in a day, though it's well worth going over night, staying in the largest and most well equipped hut in the country, and getting up to see the sunrise.
